Symptoms Of
Heartburn- Observe Carefully
Heartburn is quite a common complaint among people who have
digestive problems. This is caused when hydrochloric acid
secreted in stomach for digestion, flows back into the
esophagus and food pipe, that connects the mouth to the stomach
and starts irritation and inflames, resulting in heartburn.
Symptoms of heartburn are common and most of the time it
starts with a pain in the breastbone and a burning sensation
that reaches to the throat. The people suffering from
heartburn, usually experiences a feeling of burning liquid
coming up from the stomach to the throat. If you bend or lie
down the pain gets worse. Other symptoms of heartburn are
burping and feeling of bloating. Heartburn can be due to acid
reflux disease and if the symptoms do not subside with the help
of natural or home remedies and is experienced frequently, then
a specialist should be consulted. Usually it is seen that there
is chronic heartburn when the cause is acid reflux.
Sometimes it is also felt that people get confused with the
symptoms of heartburn to a heart attack, so it is important to
know the difference in the symptoms. The symptoms of a heart
attack are tightness or pressure or pain in the center of the
chest and that pain spreads to the shoulder and neck towards
the left side of the patient. The heart patient experiences
cold sweat, nausea and vomiting and feels quite week and dizzy
along with shortness of breadth. Except the pain in the chest,
others are typical of heart attack symptoms. So one should be
quite particular especially if the person is a heart
patient.
Normally if you have a heavy or spicy meal, within one hour
you will experience a burning discomfort behind the heart area
that moves up to the neck area to the throat after some time.
This heartburn is due heavy acid reflux into the esophagus and
can be relieved easily with the help of antacids. Antacids
decrease the acidity of the reflux liquid and make foam like
thing that prevents the acid to flow back from the stomach and
neutralizes the whole area. This cure is temporary and can be
taken only if the symptom is rarely felt. But if you experience
regular symptoms of heartburn you should consult a doctor and
try to know the cause and then eradicate it. This is important
because it is not necessary that always eating habits or wrong
food is the cause behind heartburn.
